SMP Launches ‘Are You TechSmart’ Automotive Scholarship Search

smpStandard Motor Products (SMP) has launched the “Are You TechSmart” automotive scholarship search, running now through Oct. 31. SMP will award one talented and deserving future technician a $5,000 educational scholarship to the college or technical school where he or she will be enrolled.

To enter, students are asked to visit www.techsmartparts.com/scholarship and upload a photo and/or video of themselves as well as answer several questions. All eligible entries will be judged based on relevance, creativity and thoughtfulness by TechSmart Technician John Fillipone, master technician and owner of Piedmont Tire and Auto.

“With the ‘Are You TechSmart’ scholarship search, we are looking for a talented future tech who embodies the characteristics of the TechSmart brand,” said Phil Hutchens, vice president engine management marketing, SMP. “Someone who is not only dedicated to pursuing a career in the automotive field, but who is also excited about cutting-edge technical advances, product innovation and meeting the challenges of the ever-changing automotive technology.”

Eligible candidates for the “Are You TechSmart” automotive search must be legal residents of the 50 United States, the District of Columbia and Puerto Rico who are at least 18 years of age and no more than 34 years of age at the time of entry; and are either currently enrolled full time in high school, or enrolled full time in an accredited two- or four-year college, university or post-high school educational program.
