Service Dealer from Apple Valley, CA, Wins NAPA CHASSIS’ Extreme $50,000 Shop Makeover

After servicing vehicles for more than 30 years, Jack and Melinda Collingsworth believed it was time for Big Apple Auto, their shop in Apple Valley, CA, to undergo a makeover. With his $50,000, Collingsworth can use the money however he wishes to makeover his shop.

After servicing vehicles for more than 30 years, Jack and Melinda Collingsworth believed it was time for Big Apple Auto, their shop in Apple Valley, CA, to undergo a makeover.

“Coincidentally, we just called an architect this morning about remodeling the front of our building,” Jack Collingsworth said. “This couldn’t come at a better time.”

The coincidence was that just three hours after talking to the architect, a team of NAPA CHASSIS representatives walked into their shop Tuesday, April 24, and surprised Jack and Melinda with a check for $50,000 as the grand-prize winner of NAPA CHASSIS‘ Extreme Shop Makeover promotion.

With his $50,000, Collingsworth can use the money however he wishes to makeover his shop. For example, he could purchase new tools, testing equipment, lobby furniture, shop signage, computers, training — and of course, a facade makeover.

Collingsworth’s name was selected from more than 10,000 entries nationally. Technicians and service dealers like Collingsworth received entry forms when they purchased NAPA CHASSIS Precision Engineered part kits throughout 2006. As part of the Extreme campaign, NAPA CHASSIS gave away three quarterly prizes last year: four $5,000 Extreme sports packages, four $5,000 Extreme backyard packages and four $5,000 Extreme home garage packages. Technicians and service dealers who purchased NAPA CHASSIS Precision Engineered part kits received entry forms for the specific quarterly promotion, plus entry forms for the $50,000 Extreme Shop Makeover grand prize.

“On behalf of NAPA CHASSIS, I’d like to congratulate Jack and Melinda Collingsworth on winning the Extreme $50,000 Shop Makeover promotion,” said Jesus Rico, NAPA CHASSIS marketing manager. “The reason why we can do promotions like this is due to great customers like Jack and Melinda. It sounds like they already have plans on how to invest their money into their shop, and we’re glad to help them achieve their goals.”

Collingsworth ordered the winning kit from Scott Nassif, who owns three NAPA AUTO PARTS Stores in the Apple Valley area. Jack and Scott’s relationship spans about 30 years, when they both started their businesses.

“I think it’s important to use these promotions to build upon your relationships as Jack and I have and as I have with many of my other customers,” Nassif said. “It isn’t just about parts, it isn’t just about price, it’s about working together and achieving your goals. Promotions like these help tie that all together.”

For Collingsworth, winning the NAPA CHASSIS $50,000 Shop Makeover promotion is just another bond between two long-time business partners.

“We both started out as young entrepreneurs and weren’t really sure we’d make it or not,” Collingsworth said. “But we stuck to the grindstone and 30 years later, we’re still here. We have a fantastic relationship.

“I was floored when NAPA presented a check for $50,000 to my wife. What a feeling and what a company to make something like this happen. As always they have our support and loyalty, and will continue to have that in the future.”

The origins behind the Extreme campaign are simple — revolutionize the way NAPA CHASSIS conducts business in 2006 and beyond by highlighting components such as training, testing and engineering, all of which go into manufacturing and installing chassis parts that far outperform the competition.

In addition to the quarterly and grand prize promotions, NAPA CHASSIS’ Extreme campaign also formed a sponsorship with SCORE (International Off-Road Racing), North America’s premier Baja off-road racing series.

NAPA CHASSIS is a leading supplier of chassis system components supplying the automotive Aftermarket. The brand is available at the more than 6,000 NAPA AUTO PARTS Stores nationwide.
