Run 10s at the Track with the Katech Performance Camaro Performance Package

Katech Performance has engineered a Chevrolet Camaro performance package (KAT-A4693) that allows owners to drive their car to the track, run 10s and drive back home.

Katech Performance has engineered a Chevrolet Camaro performance package (KAT-A4693) that allows owners to drive their car to the track, run 10s and drive back home.

"We’ve put together a complete package with custom fabricated parts available nowhere else that will allow Camaro, Trans Am or Firebird owners to not only run 10s, but do it safely and consistently," said Caleb Newman, vice president, director aftermarket operations, Katech Performance. "Best of all, the vehicle is a daily driver. You can fill-up with premium fuel, take it for a cruise with the air conditioner on and not worry about overheating. It’s a 10-second street car that’s ready for track day."

The Camaro/Trans Am/Firebird package starts with a Katech "Street Attack" LS7 engine featuring Katech forged pistons, rebushed connecting rods, upgraded camshaft, enhanced valvesprings, ultra-light retainers and ported cylinder heads. Other modifications include Katech powdercoated valve covers and a coil relocation kit.

Further engine and exhaust upgrades include: MSD wire set; UMI cable throttle body and dry sump adapter; Ron Davis aluminum radiator; Trakon modified production dry sump tank; Katech cam/knock adapter, MAP sensor extension and injector adapter harnesses; TPIS longtube headers; Flowmaster mufflers and a Katech fabricated true dual exhaust system.

Enhancements to the transmission and drivetrain include: RPM Transmission Stage IV T56 upgrade; Energy Suspension polyurethane transmission mount; Moser 12-bolt rear axle; PST carbon fiber 3.75-inch driveshaft; SPEC Stage 3+ clutch; Fidanza aluminum flywheel; and a Mcleod bellhousing and clutch master cylinder.

Stainless Steel Brakes Corporation (SSBC) front and rear brake kits bolster the vehicle’s stopping power while BMR Fabrication suspension components improve handling. In the rear, AFS 17×11-inch ZR1 wheels are shod with BFGoodrich g-Force T/A(r) drag radials in size 315/35R17.

The performance package also incorporates an MPR Motorsports roll bar, Sparco Fighter race seats, G-force camlock harnesses and a Flaming River battery kill switch.

Each "Street Attack" LS7 is hand built by the same technicians that develop championship winning engines for all Katech race programs. Each vehicle is also marked with a serialized Katech Performance manufacturer’s plaque.
