The Automotive Lift Institute No. 43 Ford wears a stunning paint scheme of orange, white and black. ALI’s new lift inspector certification logo is prominently displayed on both rear quarters, with the TV panel on the rear dedicated to the ALI website, wwwautolift.org, and tagline, “Your safety is riding on it.”

“It is an honor to sponsor the legendary No. 43 car and to have this opportunity to highlight the importance of vehicle service lift safety,” says R.W. “Bob” O’Gorman, ALI president. “Whether you’re a technician working under a lift, a shop owner or supervisor, or a car owner who wants to be sure your vehicle is lifted right, there’s more than a car riding on that lift: Your safety is riding on it.”

ALI is a trade association dedicated to promoting the safe design, construction, installation, inspection, service and use of vehicle service lifts. It sponsors several national vehicle lift safety standards, offers a third-party Automotive Lift Certification Program and is launching North America’s first national Lift Inspector Certification Program. This program will test and certify vehicle lift inspectors who are qualified to thoroughly inspect an installed vehicle lift and report on its suitability for continued use and/or the need for maintenance or repair. The program kicks off with an event in Las Vegas Oct. 31-Nov. 1. Companies with a Certified Inspector on staff will be listed in an online directory on the ALI website in 2013 to make it easy for lift owners/operators to find local ALI certified inspectors to perform annual inspections.

ALI is a longtime Petty organization partner. The Institute is a sponsor of the Petty’s Garage Performance Tour and the annual Petty’s Garage Spring Fling Car Show held each year at the Level Cross facility where racing for the Petty family first began. Richard and Kyle Petty host Lifting It Right, an ALI safety training DVD focused on using vehicle lifts properly.

“We are proud to have ALI on our car this weekend at Pocono,” said Mike Hargrave, Executive Vice President of Marketing for Richard Petty Motorsports.  “This is another great example of all our companies working together to provide the best value possible for our partners. ALI has been a long-time supporter of Petty’s Garage and now they will continue their support on the track with the No. 43 Ford race team.”

The Pennsylvania 400 will air live on ESPN on Sunday, Aug. 5, at 1 p.m. Eastern.
