Rain-X Partners With RCR’s No. 2 Nationwide Series Team At Daytona International Speedway

Rain-X will serve as the primary sponsor for Brian Scott and Richard Childress Racing's No. 2 Chevrolet team in the NASCAR Nationwide Series event under the lights at Daytona International Speedway, on July 5.

Rain-X, an automotive aftermarket leader in water repellency and wiper blades, will serve as the primary sponsor for Brian Scott and Richard Childress Racing’s No. 2 Chevrolet team in the NASCAR Nationwide Series event under the lights at Daytona International Speedway, on July 5.

In a partnership with Advance Auto Parts, Rain-X joins RCR for the second-consecutive year as a primary sponsor. Fans who purchase Rain-X wiper blades in Advance Auto Parts stores throughout the country between now and October 2 will enjoy great sale prices and have a chance to win more than 1,000 prizes, including a grand prize VIP race weekend. Advance Auto Parts is a preferred retailer of top selling Rain-X Latitude and Weatherbeater wiper blades and also carries a wide selection of other terrific Rain-X glass care products such as the new Rain-X Deep Cleaning Windshield Kit, Rain-X Headlight Restorer Kit and Rain-X Glass Treatment.

For the Friday, July 5, Nationwide Series race at the “World Center of Racing” Rain-X will “salute” America and military families by participating in NASCAR’s American Salute program. In a patriotic initiative to unite the NASCAR industry to celebrate America and support our military and their families, the No. 2 Rain-X Chevrolet Camaro will feature patriotic red, white and blue colors.

“Rain-X is proud to add a new chapter in our on-going partnership with two recognized market leaders, Advance Auto Parts and NASCAR,” said Harley Johnson, director of brand management for Rain-X. “With its 3,900 stores, Advance is one of the top providers of Rain-X products to both do-it-yourselfers and professional installers. Add NASCAR’s popularity from millions of race attendees and tens of millions more racing fans, and the impact of our combined three brands it tough to beat.”

Currently in his fourth year of Nationwide Series competition, Scott has earned one pole, five top-five and 28 top-10 finishes. To date, since joining RCR at the beginning of the 2013 season, Scott currently sits eighth in the Nationwide Series driver championship point standings.

“RCR’s partnership with Rain-X provides a great opportunity to showcase several of the company’s new products to race fans, so it’s exciting they will be on my car at Daytona International Speedway,” Scott said. “I already feel like I’ve had a long relationship with them because I depended on Rain-X during my dirt racing days to keep fog off my visor during races. Now I use Rain-X products on my personal vehicles to keep water beading and wicking off. The racing at Daytona International Speedway is always unpredictable so I’m looking forward to bring everyone at Rain-X a good finish in July.”

In the season opener at Daytona International Speedway, Scott drove his way to a sixth-place finish earning his highest-career superspeedway finish.

Rain-X, owned by ITW Global Brands, joins RCR partners Shore Lodge, Husky Liners, Armour Vienna Sausages and Charter Media who serve as primary sponsors for a majority of the races on Scott’s No. 2 Chevrolet Camaro.
