The manager of an O’Reilly’s Auto Parts store in Fort Walton Beach, FL, arrived at work early Wednesday morning to find his business flooded. A car had crashed through the back of the building and broke the water main and destroyed the restrooms. No driver was present.

Car rented to fire chief found inside auto parts store

FORT WALTON BEACH A car rented to Mary Esther Fire Chief Ron McArtor was found inside O’Reilly’s Auto Parts on Mary Esther Cut-Off early Wednesday morning by the store manager.
Terrance Mire called police at about 6:30 a.m. to report that a car was in the building and that there was no driver present.
The 2010 white Dodge Charger had crashed through the back of the building, breaking the water main and destroying the restrooms.
Fort Walton Beach Police Chief Ted Litschauer confirmed that the car was "being rented to the Mary Esther Fire Chief." The Mary Esther Fire Chief is Ron McArtor.
"We have an active investigation and we have contacted our suspect," Litschauer said. "He has executed his Fifth Amendment rights and it is still an active investigation."
