The Timken Co. has just introduced a special promotion for its online technician training course beginning in July.

The “Think Orange” program recognizes technicians with award patches, certificates and apparel for completing the Timken Tech Series online training course. Additionally, technicians will receive an entry to win a $500 gift card for each of the seven modules completed.

The “Think Orange” promotion runs July 1 through Nov. 30. Timken plans to award one gift card each month. Upon completion of any training module, technicians become eligible to win in any subsequent month.

“Through our interactions at the distributor and repair shop levels, we consistently hear the need for manufacturers to provide training,” said Barry Harris, global manager of marketing, cataloging and strategy for the Timken automotive and commercial vehicle aftermarket. “We introduced our Timken Tech Series more than five years ago, and it continues to be well-received at the installer level and at vocational schools. The training, which has become more comprehensive through the years, provides fundamental knowledge delivered by industry experts to help the installer become more proficient in bearing and seal maintenance and troubleshooting.”

The interactive, multi-media Timken Tech Series features seven training modules that provide registrants product basics, handling, removal, installation and troubleshooting for various types of bearings, seals and lubrication. Tech Series benefits anyone interested in proper maintenance procedures for tapered, cylindrical and needle roller bearings, ball bearings, hub unit bearings, seals and lubrication used in vehicle applications.

The full Tech Series course is available online at www.timken.com/techseries.
