Mopar Launches Remanufactured Next Generation Controller (NGC) IV, Expands Growing Line Of Reman Engine Control Modules

Mopar recently announced the introduction of a Remanufactured Next Generation Controller (NGC) IV, the newest addition in a long line of authentically remanufactured engine controllers.

Mopar recently announced the introduction of a Remanufactured Next Generation Controller (NGC) IV, the newest addition in a long line of authentically remanufactured engine controllers. The NGC, which combines the Powertrain Control Module (PCM) and Transmission Control Module (TCM), is a Mopar exclusive and the latest product in a 75-year history of parts and service excellence.

As with all Mopar Remanufactured products, Mopar Reman NGC IV components are meticulously inspected and tested and upgraded or replaced to ensure the parts meet the strictest O.E. engineering standards. Mopar Reman NGC IVs provide industry-leading technology with comprehensive OBD II monitoring and enhanced misfire detection.

Features include:

• Catalyst and O² monitor information are acquired and processed at the same time to ensure timely recognition of system failures;

• O² sensor heater monitor runs continuously once the heaters are energized, rather than waiting to reach normal operating temperatures;

• EGR runs in a closed throttle decel, or at idle in a warm vehicle; and

• Natural Vacuum Leak Detection (NVLD) can detect even the most minute vacuum leaks, even when the vehicle is not in operation.

The NGC IV features three different types of transmission shutdown modes for protection:

• Immediate shutdown, if necessary;

• Orderly shutdown if the NGC determines immediate shutdown is not necessary; and

• Logical shutdown, with recovery, which does not de-energize the TCM relay but allows the transmission to utilize third-gear if a problem occurs while in Drive (D) to avoid harsh downshift.

Mopar Reman NGC IVs are the latest addition to the Mopar brand’s product lineup of more than 4,000 remanufactured parts.

“The Reman NGC IV is a prime example of the quality and technology built into every Mopar Remanufactured Part,” said Kathy Wideman, Senior Manager, Mopar Repair/Reman Portfolio. “Our team has worked diligently to provide a full product line of Reman parts, which offer authentic quality at a value that’s perfect for older model vehicles and cost-conscious customers.”
