Monroe shocks and struts, one of the world’s leading brands of replacement shock absorbers and struts, is one of several sponsors taking part in an aggressive new mobile marketing program this fall: The Field & Stream and Outdoor Life 2007 Road Tour.

Developed by two of the world’s most recognizable consumer magazines, Field & Stream and Outdoor Life, the road tour will bring a complete outdoor and lifestyle experience to enthusiasts.

Starting in August and running through September, the tour’s schedule includes more than a dozen stops at select state fairs, outdoor events, college campuses and Cabela’s retail stores. Two of the college campus stops were featured in a special section within the June/July issue of Outdoor Life about America’s top college campuses for hunting and fishing in Outdoor Life.

The schedule includes the following events:

• Cabela’s store visit, Dundee, MI, Aug. 11
• Cabela’s store visit, Rogers, MN, Aug. 18
• Cabela’s store visit, Owatonna, MN, Aug. 19

“The Road Tour gives us a unique opportunity to target outdoor enthusiasts,” said Carri Irby, brand manager North American aftermarket, Tenneco. “Monroe has several key technologies and products – like our innovative shocks and trailer kits – that would enhance their outdoor sports experience – hunting, fishing, camping or anything else!”

Specially designed for light-truck and sport-utility vehicle applications, Monroe’s products include Monroe Reflex truck shock absorbers that feature Acceleration-Sensitive Damping (ASD), a technology that quickly senses road impacts to absorb harshness when needed, as well as specially tuned valving with a Fluon banded piston. Monroe Reflex truck shocks have the ability to sense acceleration, improving handling and overall ride characteristics while providing greater control.

Monroe also offers the application-engineered Monroe Sensa-Trac truck shock absorber that includes Position Sensitive Damping (PSD) technology, the Safe Tech system, and a Fluon banded piston. This application-engineered design adjusts quickly to changing road and weight conditions and provides enhanced control and improved ride comfort.

Another shock absorber that is ideal for light-truck, sport utility vehicles and tow trailers is the Monroe Sensa-Trac load adjusting shock absorber. This design features exclusive application-engineered valving with a heavy-gauge calibrated spring for extra comfort and control. Ideal for towing boats or campers, each new pair of Sensa-Trac load adjusting shocks helps maintain precise ride height even when up to 1,200 pounds of additional weight is loaded on the vehicle.

The Monroe Retrofit kit, developed specifically for the do-it-yourselfer, modifies trailers to accept shock absorbers and help reduce trailer bounce and wandering. Installing without the use of special tools or welding, the kit fits trailers with either a leaf spring or a torsion axle suspension.

Monroe also offers a complete line of light truck and sport utility vehicle suspension accessories plus an offering of RV shocks. Visit www.monroe.com for more details.
