Mitchell 1’s New ProDemand 1Search Feature Delivers OEM And Experience-Based Repair Information Together

Advanced search technology helps service professionals fix more cars. The information is organized into the familiar tabs in the ProDemand dashboard, enabling the user to easily find the most relevant information to solve their specific repair problem.

Mitchell 1 announces powerful new search technology in its ProDemand repair information software that delivers complete OEM and experience-based information together in a single lookup. ProDemand with 1Search streamlines the search process by integrating data from the SureTrack diagnostic resource to provide comprehensive, categorized repair information in a user-friendly interface, making it easier than ever for users to find the complete information they need to repair vehicles accurately and efficiently.

“Last year, Mitchell 1 introduced SureTrack to the marketplace and it has been an amazing success story,” said Ben Johnson, director of product management, Mitchell 1. “This year, we have integrated the SureTrack data into ProDemand, our premium source for OEM content. With this new global search feature, users can improve their efficiencies by keying in their search term from a single location to retrieve a wealth of information sorted into easy-to-use categories.”

Combining OEM and experience-based information provides immediate visibility to complete content to help technicians quickly solve the repair problems for the vehicles in their service bays. Vehicle-specific data in SureTrack is generated from millions of successful fixes from professional technicians and consolidated from numerous sources, eliminating the need for technicians to log in multiple times to access different sources to gather and analyze information.

The 1Search feature in ProDemand incorporates a single search field for entering diagnostic trouble codes, components or symptoms, which then returns information from Mitchell 1’s vast library of OEM content as well as detailed parts replacement records, tips and Real Fixes from SureTrack’s experience-based information database. The information is organized into the familiar tabs in the ProDemand dashboard, enabling the user to easily find the most relevant information to solve their specific repair problem.

“The new 1Search enhancement continues to drive our strategy of providing the most complete repair information in the industry so service professionals can increase efficiency and fix more cars. That’s at the very core of everything we do at Mitchell 1,” Johnson concluded.

Knock sensors are mounted on the block near the base of the cylinder head.

The knock sensor is a piezoelectric accelerometer that acts as a microphone on the engine. It converts vibrations into alternating current (AC) signal. When the crystal inside the sensor is vibrated, it produces an AC voltage. The greater the vibration or shock, the higher the voltage and frequency.
