Visitors that stop by the Miller Electric Mfg. Co. booth (#24713 in the Racing & Performance section) at this year’s SEMA show will have the opportunity to see the latest welding and plasma cutting equipment and participate in hands-on MIG and TIG welding and plasma cutting demonstrations. SEMA will take place in Las Vegas, Oct. 30-Nov. 2, 2007.

New products on display will include the Millermatic 140 with Auto-Set, three newly-enhanced Millermatics: the Millermatic 212, Millermatic 252, Millermatic DVI2, the Millermatic 350P with XR-Aluma-Pro Gun, and the new Spoolmate 100 Series spool gun for welding aluminum.

• Ideal for automotive enthusiast of all skill levels, the new Millermatic 140 with Auto-Set is the simplest welder to set-up and start welding. The user simply sets the wire diameter and material thickness. The patent pending Auto-Set technology automatically sets wire feed speed and voltage to achieve optimal welding results. This 115V welder works with C25 gas (75% argon, 25% CO2) and either .024- or .030-in. diameter solid wire and can weld 24 gauge up to 3/16-in. mild steel.

• Three newly enhanced Millermatic models will be introduced: the Millermatic DVI2 , Millermatic 212 and Millermatic 252 . The new Millermatics maintain the same high quality arc characteristics as their predecessors (the Millermatic DVI, 210 and 251), but add several new features to increase operator friendliness, workplace convenience and productivity, such as the ability to roll rather than lift gas cylinders into position and to switch easily between steel and aluminum applications.

• When combined with the Millermatic 350P, the XR-Aluma-Pro provides automotive enthusiasts with a complete aluminum welding system. This gooseneck-style MIG gun optimizes feeding performance for 4000 and 5000 series aluminum through a two-position, series-specific tension control. Proper drive roll tension solves problems related to wire burn-back, erratic feeding and arc fluctuations, helping aluminum fabricators improve productivity. The air-cooled XR-Aluma-Pro is the first push-pull gun rated for welding at 300 amps/100 percent duty cycle — 100 amps more than competitive guns!

• Miller Electric Mfg. Co.’s new Spoolmate 100 Series spool gun puts aluminum welding within easy reach for owners of Millermatic 140, Millermatic 140 with Auto-Set and Millermatic 180 MIG welders. The Spoolmate 100 Series plugs directly into any of these welders without the need for a separate control box and was designed primarily for the home hobbyist and others who do occasional aluminum welding. The Spoolmate 100 Series features a recessed contact tip and a clear spool cover to help reduce the number of burnbacks.
