Matt Kenseth Crew Chief Jimmy Fennig is Top MOOG ‘Problem Solver’ at Bristol

Jimmy Fennig, crew chief for Matt Kenseth and the MOOG Steering and Suspension-equipped No. 17 Best Buy Ford Fusion, was named MOOG "Problem Solver of the Race" following Kenseth's runner-up finish in Sunday's Food City 500 NASCAR Sprint Cup Race at Bristol (TN) Motor Speedway.

Jimmy Fennig, crew chief for Matt Kenseth and the MOOG Steering and Suspension-equipped No. 17 Best Buy Ford Fusion, was named MOOG “Problem Solver of the Race” following Kenseth’s runner-up finish in Sunday’s Food City 500 NASCAR Sprint Cup Race at Bristol (TN) Motor Speedway.

Sponsored by global automotive components manufacturer Federal-Mogul Corporation, the MOOG Problem Solver award is presented after each Sprint Cup race to the crew chief whose car posts the best second-half improvement in average lap speed while finishing on the lead lap. The Roush Racing-owned No. 17 car improved by a race-best 0.087-second and ran in the top two for nearly 250 of the 500 laps of Bristol’s .533-mile oval.

“Matt had a brand-new chassis this weekend and they were loose in Friday’s qualifying, but Jimmy obviously solved those issues today,” said Federal-Mogul Motorsports Director Tim Nelson. “The beauty of a MOOG-equipped chassis is that you have the strength, durability and performance to be successful on even the most challenging tracks.”

Kenseth, winner of this year’s Daytona 500, started 21st but quickly threaded his way into the top 10 and was running 4th by Lap 149. He took the lead on Lap 250 and was involved in a head-to-head battle with race winner Brad Keselowski and the MOOG-equipped No. 2 Miller Lite Dodge over the second half of the race.
