Matco Tools Named Among Best Franchises for Veterans in 2013

Matco Tools was named among the best franchises for veterans in 2013 – allowing veterans to use their background and training to launch a new career.

Matco Tools is named one of the best franchises for veterans in America for 2013 by G.I. Jobs. Matco honors military veterans by offering service members a $10,000 incentive toward start up costs, allowing veterans to use their background and training to launch a new civilian career.

“One in four returning service members indicate interest in owning their own business,” said Sean Collins, director for G.I. Jobs. “Franchises are a perfect fit for service members, who bring unparalleled operational skill sets and work ethic but are often unclear how to start a business.”

Being selected as a Military Friendly Franchise places Matco Tools in an elite group and is testimony of Matco’s commitment to supporting military veterans interested in franchise opportunities. More than 230 veteran franchisees have found a new professional life with Matco Tools. Thomas Ryan, a 28-year Army veteran and Matco Tools distributor in Colorado says, “It can be intimidating to start a business like this, but within a month of starting my franchise it was successfully paying its own bills. I see the parallels between Matco and the military. Matco cares about the military and how they serve our country, they give you the whole package when it comes to starting your own franchise."

Returning to civilian life after military service is different for every person, but Matco Tools offers mobile tool franchises for veterans from an established company that has a history of success. By choosing to purchase a Matco Tools franchise, veterans have the opportunity and freedom to run their own mobile tool business, with the backing of a powerful national brand.

All new Matco Tools franchisees go through eight weeks of classroom and field training, to give them the best preparation possible. Training is completed at the corporate and local level by Matco’s experienced training team. In addition, Matco Tools provides at least 325 potential customers on a pre-qualified list of calls with comprehensive training to service these customers and run a successful business. Ongoing training and support is provided so distributors receive continued assistance as they grow their business.

“Matco Tools is honored to have been named on the 2013 G.I. Jobs Military Friendly Franchise list,” said Ernie Lauber, senior vice president of sales for Matco Tools. “Veterans who choose to purchase a Matco Tools franchise become part of an award-winning franchise system that offers them start-up financing options, training, marketing, and support that they can use to achieve and exceed business and personal goals.”

The 2013 Military Friendly Franchises list was compiled via a data-driven survey overseen by an advisory board of industry experts. The survey results list were independently tested by Ernst & Young based upon the weightings and methodology established by Victory Media.

The full list of Military Friendly Franchises is published each June in G.I. Jobs magazine, and on http://www.MilitaryFranchising.com, a web tool that helps veterans decide which franchise to choose. Additional resources are posted on the Military Friendly Franchises.
