KYB Americas is continuing the expansion of its North American operations with a new manufacturing plant in Silao, Guanajuanto, Mexico.
The plant will begin production of manufacturing hydraulic pumps for automobile continuously variable transmissions. In the future, the facility also will manufacture automotive shocks, struts and steering components, the company said.
The new plant is currently under construction with completion set for December 2013. Actual manufacturing in the new plant is slated to start with 130 employees in 2014.
“Over the past 10 years, KYB has been very aggressive in expanding our capabilities and operations in North America, and this new plant is a confirmation of our continued commitment,” said KYB Americas Vice
President Mike Fiorito. “We’re particularly excited about the KYB manufacturing technologies and quality control processes that are being integrated into the design of this new plant. The plant will produce the very same high-quality premium products that KYB customers expect.”
