Jimmie Johnson drove his Bosch-equipped No. 48 Lowe’s Chevrolet SS to victory lane in Saturday evening’s NASCAR Sprint Cup Series event at Kansas Speedway. In recognition of Johnson’s victory, Bosch Aftermarket NA is making a $1,000 contribution to the Hendrick Marrow Program for the fourth time this season.
The Hendrick Marrow Program works to raise money to help cover uninsured costs of transplants through the Hendrick Family Fund for patient assistance, while growing the Be The Match Registry of volunteer donors. Rick Hendrick, owner of Hendrick Motorsports, established the Hendrick Marrow Program of the Be The Match Foundation, operated by the National Marrow Donor Program, after being diagnosed with leukemia in 1997.
“It was gratifying to see three Bosch-equipped Hendrick Motorsports teams in the top four this past weekend at Kansas Speedway,” said Tony Pauly, director of advertising and brand management for Bosch Automotive Aftermarket North America. “It is testament to the strength of the Hendrick teams – especially at the 1-1/2-mile tracks – and the partnership between Bosch and Hendrick Motorsports.
