JDI Acquires Assets of Handy Industries Gas Caddy Line

Barberton, OH — JohnDow Industries, in an effort to further grow its gas caddy sales and distribution, has recently completed the asset purchase of the Handy Industries Gas Caddy line. Prior to the purchase, JDI’s gas caddy line, under the brand name Fuel Chief was the largest in North America. Handy held the second position nationally and abroad.

Handy, located in Marshalltown, IA, has been a quality manufacturer since 1964. This acquisition by JDI better positions the company to meet the needs of many different fuel transfer and storage applications and markets. “The staff at JohnDow is eager to work with the Handy customers, as there has been a void in the market for their products for nearly a month,” commented Mark Pfleeger, vice president-sales at JohnDow. Handy Gas Caddy parts are also now available through JDI.
The Handy Gas Caddy asset acquisition is the second of its kind for JDI in the last year. In September 2009, the assets of Dynamic Automotive Fasteners & Supplies of Madison Heights, MI, were acquired as well.

The Fuel Chief line offers FM-approved steel models for professional, fuel system-related service work, poly models with several capacities for basic fuel storage needs, and was first with professional FM-approved models for the unique demands for alternative fuels and flex fuels.
