The Ingersoll Rand IQV Series cordless tools made their television debut this fall on the new “NASCAR Angels” television series. The tools donated for use on the show included 1/2", 3/8" and 1/4" cordless Impactools as well as 1/2" cordless drill/drivers.

Besides promoting goodwill in the community, NASCAR Angels also strengthened industry connections, working heavily with aftermarket suppliers like Goodyear Gemini, a sponsor of the show. Goodyear technicians relied on the new Ingersoll Rand IQV Series cordless tools during filming of three episodes in the Charlotte, NC, area.

“The tools were extremely versatile,” said Tony Woodall, Goodyear Gemini regional manager. “The technicians were very impressed with the way the tools performed. We were able to physically take them inside the car without dragging air hoses and use them for things that you couldn’t typically use power tools for.”

Billed on their website as “Extreme Makeover: Home Edition meets Pimp My Ride,” the NASCAR Angels mission is to help deserving people by fixing their broken cars, with the help of local professionals. To bolster support for the series, NASCAR filmed the episodes in its top 10 markets during race week. Participants were taken to the race in their respective area and often got the chance to meet NASCAR drivers and crew chiefs. The third and final episode showcasing the Ingersoll Rand cordless tools will air in January and features extended footage of the tools in use.
