The APRA Heavy Duty Transmission Division will be hosting their annual technical clinic on July 16 and 17 in Milwaukee, WI. Adding to the already announced presentations by AxleTech and Oshkosh, attendees will hear from veteran financial analyst Will Burnett on “How to Value Your Business, and Why it’s Important.” With today’s increasing consolidation, it’s not inconceivable that as a good heavy duty remanufacturer you may be approached by firms that want to enter the business or are looking to expand their existing business. As Jack Stack said at the 2008 HDRG Summit in Las Vegas, “Reman has become sexy to investors,” so it’s important to know how to value your business.

By helping business owners understand how the financial community evaluates a business, the owner can make smart decisions on the operation, and/or sale of the business and financing the business. Will Burnett is a partner in the Owner Resource Group of New York City, and brings a wealth of knowledge to the financing of small and mid-sized companies. Managing your business to maximize value has many benefits whether you intend to sell your business or not.

The tour of AxleTech in Oshkosh, WI, on Thursday, July 17th will be followed by a lunch at the facility. Starting out as the former Rockwell International Off Highway Division, the AxleTech Oshkosh plant now services the needs of commercial on highway and specialty vehicle carriers, drivelines and brakes. With a focus on axle technology, it has become AxleTech International, a high quality OEM and aftermarket supplier.

After lunch the group will tour the Pierce Manufacturing Fire Truck operation in Appleton, WI (which is owned by Oshkosh Corp). Pierce manufactures a complete line of firefighting vehicles incorporating the latest technology into every custom built vehicle.

July 16 and 17 will be a valuable chance to network with your peers. Program details are below.
