GM 4L60E Transmission Prices Reduced

GM announces new, aggressive pricing on its most popular automatic transmission -- the 4L60E.

Since 1993, more than 20 million vehicles have been equipped with a 4L60E Transmission. It’s been the workhorse transmission in many memorable GM models including the Corvette, Camaro, Firebird, Caprice, Impala SS, Sierra and Silverado Pickup Trucks, Yukon, Tahoe, Avalanche, Savana and many others.

With a remanufactured version of the 4L60E, customers get a transmission that’s the exact fit for their vehicle, updated and enhanced with the very latest GM Powertrain technology. A quality reman 4L60E available through GM Powertrain dealers and ACDelco distributors is always matched to the specific vehicle application. In all, more than 100 vehicle-calibrated versions of the transmission are available.

“A lot of aftermarket suppliers will say ‘here’s a ‘60’ that fits, but it may have come out of an entirely different vehicle and not be technically applicable,” said Chris Thomas, transmission/advanced propulsion portfolio manager for GM SPO. “All of our reman products are plug-and-play, have the original specified calibration and come with significant updates that remedy any deficiencies which may have been in earlier versions. So what the customer gets is often much better than the original.”

Another reason to choose a GM Reman 4L60E for a replacement job is the warranty and support available exclusively through GM dealers and installers. Every 4L60E comes with a three-year/100,000-mile parts and labor warranty. Warranty service is readily accessible, either from GM dealers or through the independent service center (ISC) that installed the transmission. In some cases, other ISCs can perform warranty work.

“If a customer is traveling out-of-state with a 4L60E GM Reman Transmission, they can easily get service, whereas one available through an aftermarket supplier might not carry full nationwide warranty coverage,” Thomas said.
