FRAM, Autolite Hit The Road For 2015 Summer Mobile Tour

FRAM-2015-Summer-Tour-300x154Back for its third annual tour, the mobile education unit from FRAM and Autolite will travel more than 5,000 miles across the U.S. this summer to auto enthusiast events including the Hot Rod Power Tour, Car Craft Street Machine Nationals, Woodward Dream Cruise, Lucas Oil 4W Jamboree Nationals and NOPI Nationals. Master technicians for FRAM and Autolite will be on site to lead training sessions around filtration and spark plug technology, and the mobile education unit will feature consumer displays on FRAM and Autolite products.

The first 1,000-mile leg of the cross-country tour will follow the seven-day, seven-city Hot Rod Power Tour, beginning June 6. More than 5,800 performance cars are expected to take part in the long haul from Madison, Wisconsin, to Baton Rouge, Louisiana.

“The summer mobile tour is an important grassroots, educational opportunity for us to showcase the ‘Do It Right’ mentality of the FRAM brand,” said Rich Fleming, vice president of sales and marketing for FRAM Filtration. “We’re excited to be expanding our offerings onboard the mobile unit in our third year and look forward to meeting many fans on the road this summer.”

On board the mobile unit, video screens and interactive air and oil filter displays will compliment one-on-one attention from FRAM experts. One FRAM display illustrates how an air filter helps eliminate dirt and dust particles from a vehicle’s airflow, and the FRAM oil filter display uses fiber optics to trace the path of oil through an engine filter. Cutaway filters are also used for demonstration purposes.

The onboard Autolite spark cart features three working ignition systems – a waste spark system, a conventional distributor system and a coil-on-plug system – that operate just like they would in a car. The ignition systems indicate which spark plug works with each system. The spark cart also has a complete operating glow plug system.

“We want to do our part to help keep the industry and customers up to date on the latest spark plug and ignition technologies and products,” said Josh Gordon, vice president of sales and marketing for Autolite.
