Fidanza has joined the Karagiannis Racing team (Glenwood, MD) as an associate sponsor.

Karagiannis Racing, represented by driver and team owner Demetrios Karagiannis, currently competes in National Hot Rod Association (NHRA) Sport Compact and NOPI Drag Racing Association (NDRA) competition with a 25.1e Outlaw rear-wheel drive 2007 Mazdaspeed 3 equipped with a Fidanza performance aluminum flywheel.

"Fidanza is a well-known and respected name in the sport compact performance community," said Karagiannis. "For many years they’ve helped get other teams to the winner’s circle. Needless to say, we’re very excited they’ve joined ours."

Karagiannis Racing was founded in 1999 when Demetrios began piloting his daily-driven 1993 Mazda RX7 in motorsport competition. In 2002, after years of bracket and heads-up racing, Karagiannis built a unibody RX7 to compete in NHRA and NDRA events. At that time, the vehicle held a world record for fastest unibody RX7.

Fidanza, headquartered in Perry, OH, has manufactured race-proven drivetrain components – including flywheels, clutches (including new twin-disc units), cam gears, CV shafts and driveshafts – for more than 10 years. Presently, Fidanza sponsors a number of professional drag race competitors, including Team Titan Motorsports (NHRA, NDRA) and Martino Motorsports (NHRA, International Hot Rod Association), as well as The Contingency Connection, which allows the company to offer support to thousands of racers a week at sanctioned tracks across the country.

"Without racers, there would be no Fidanza," said Bob Scheid, vice president, Fidanza. "We strongly believe it is our duty to give back to the motorsports community. We’re proud to sponsor Karagiannis Racing and look forward to a long-term, successful partnership."

Karagiannis will compete in up to 13 NHRA and NDRA events in 2007. To read more about the race team, visit www.reactiveracing.com.
