Federated To Sponsor ‘Last Race Before The Chase’ NASCAR Sprint Cup Race At Richmond

Federated will again sponsor NASCAR's "Last Race Before the Chase." The Federated Auto Parts 400 Sprint Cup race will be held on Sept. 7 at the Richmond International Raceway and will be seen nationally on ABC-TV.

Federated will again sponsor NASCAR’s “Last Race Before the Chase.” The Federated Auto Parts 400 Sprint Cup race will be held on Sept. 7 at the Richmond International Raceway and will be seen nationally on ABC-TV.

“The Federated Auto Parts 400 is the crucial ‘Last Race Before the Chase,’ providing Federated members and customers the excitement of NASCAR stars battling for one of the 12 coveted spots to contend for the championship,” said J.R. Bishop, director of motorsports and event marketing for Federated.  “The race also kicks off this year’s Federated Toys for Tots partnership. With all the excitement on and off the track, the Federated Auto Parts 400 will be an unforgettable experience.”

For the second year in a row, over 1,200 Federated guests will travel to Richmond for an exciting weekend of NASCAR racing and hospitality. In addition to the Federated 400, select Federated contest winners will partake in a driving experience hosted by NASCAR legend Kenny Schrader. Schrader will also drive the Federated Sprint Cup car in the race.

Last year, Clint Bowyer endured three hours of rain delays to take the checkered flag as he defeated Jeff Gordon by 1.198 seconds in the Federated 400. Gordon’s second-place showing earned him the final spot in the “Chase” for the 2012 Sprint Cup. Last year’s Federated 400 also marked Schrader’s 750th career NASCAR Sprint Cup series start.
