Epicor Now Providing Weekly eCatalog Updates

Epicor Software Corporation recently announced that comprehensive weekly electronic catalog updates featuring the latest automotive parts and applications information are now available to distributors, jobbers and service providers for virtually all of the company's most popular aftermarket business management systems and Web-based solutions.

Epicor Software Corporation, a global leader in business software solutions for manufacturing, distribution, retail, and services organizations, recently announced that comprehensive weekly electronic catalog updates featuring the latest automotive parts and applications information are now available to distributors, jobbers and service providers for virtually all of the company’s most popular aftermarket business management systems and Web-based solutions. The new feeds of Epicor PartExpert data are provided four times per month via the Epicor Active Updates service to help users increase sales and customer service levels.

This new capability is available immediately to users of Epicor Eagle, J-CON, Prism, A-DIS and Ultimate business management software as well as the Web-based Epicor Internet AutoParts (www.iapshop.com) and Epicor Integrated Service Estimator solutions. Weekly updates also will be available soon for users of Epicor Vision software.

“This new service is a significant step toward near real-time availability of comprehensive, accurate product data to thousands of parts wholesalers and service providers,” said Scott Thompson, vice president, automotive eCommerce for Epicor.

Aftermarket businesses using the Active Updates service will automatically receive complete eCatalog data updates via overnight file transfer. Each update contains all available data for the Epicor PartExpert suite, including new parts and application information, images and other value-added content provided by manufacturers.

Epicor eCatalog products are among the aftermarket’s most popular parts research tools, being used in an estimated 70 percent or more of over-the-counter and electronic parts transactions in North America. The engine driving this popularity is the company’s extensive set of replacement parts data, now comprising over 8 million parts, 7,500 manufacturer product lines and 22 million interchanges.

“The volume of manufacturer data we receive, validate and publish each month has grown exponentially over the past five years and we have made tremendous progress in expanding our own capacity for validating and processing this data. The new weekly Active Updates data feeds are another important investment on behalf of our eCatalog users and industry suppliers,” Thompson said.

Active Updates eCatalog feeds are available to users of the following solutions: Epicor Eagle (R. 22.1 or later); J-CON (R. 65.05.20 or later in U.S.; 65.05.22 in Canada); Prism (R. 13.1 or later in U.S.; 13.2 or later in Canada); A-DIS (R. 67.06.07 or later); Ultimate (R. 9.0.9 or later). A high-speed Internet connection is required. This functionality is available immediately for all users of the cloud-based Internet AutoParts and Integrated Service Estimator products.
