Elgin Industries Opens Distribution Facility, Plans Further Expansion Of Manufacturing Operations

Elgin Industries, one of North America's leading manufacturers of original equipment (OE) and replacement engine and chassis components, has opened a standalone product distribution facility in Elgin, Ill. According to the company, the new facility will serve the growing packaging, private label and specialized shipping requirements of its aftermarket distributors and other customers.

According to the company, the new facility will serve the growing packaging, private label and specialized shipping requirements of its aftermarket distributors and other customers.

The new distribution facility also will enable Elgin to expand manufacturing operations at its state-of-the-art headquarters and production facility. The company, which is celebrating its 95th anniversary, supports fully integrated engineering, manufacturing and heat treatment operations on its headquarters campus.

“We have experienced significant growth in our OE and aftermarket businesses, not only in product volume and variety but also in the specialized packaging and logistics services we provide,” said Elgin Industries President Bill Skok. “Our physical expansion reflects the expanded value we offer our customers in North America and around the world.”

Elgin is a Tier One supplier of OE engine and chassis components to organizations such as Chrysler, Deere & Company, Ford, General Motors, Harley-Davidson, Mack and Navistar. The company also is a leading all-makes/all-models supplier of replacement automotive and heavy-duty parts to distributors throughout the world.

Elgin has earned dozens of quality awards and has received its certificates of registration to the ISO/TS 16949:2009 Quality Management System and ISO 14001:2004 Environmental Management System. It has received its Ford Q1 Quality Certification and is a Preferred Partner to JASPER Engines & Transmissions.
