Robert Bosch LLC is celebrating its 100th anniversary of producing alternators and starters with 15 new additions to its line of remanufactured products. Designed for European vehicles in the aftermarket, these new part numbers cover Audi/VW, BMW, Mercedes, Mini, Porsche, Saab and Volvo, and cover 1.45 million vehicles on the road in the United States and Canada.

“Bosch has been involved with starting and charging systems since 1913 when Robert Bosch introduced the first voltage-regulating generator that ultimately laid the foundation for the ‘electrification’ of the automobile,” said Edwin Bender, director, product management, Rotating Electrical, Bosch Automotive Aftermarket, North America. “The introduction of these new part numbers represents Bosch’s continued commitment to providing the independent aftermarket with the parts they need to service modern European automobiles.”

Bosch new and remanufactured alternators and starters offer consistently powerful performance in extreme heat, cold and demanding environments, according to the company. Bosch Professional Preferred Alternators and starters are equipped with many all-new components including factory-installed OE clutch pulleys for alternators where applicable.

“Where it is required on an alternator, the new clutch pulley offers three benefits to a vehicle’s charging system – better fuel economy, quieter operation and extended belt life. The Bosch Professional Preferred Alternator comes with a new OE equivalent pulley," said Fred Padgett, group product manager, rotating electrical, Bosch Automotive Aftermarket, North America.

All Bosch remanufactured alternators and starters are covered by Bosch’s two-year warranty, and also are covered by Bosch’s exclusive two-year, free emergency roadside assistance program.

The new alternator and starter part numbers can be found in Bosch’s latest ACES/PIES catalog for June 2013. Many of these SKUs are not available through other reman suppliers at this time, according to Bosch.
