Bobby Alloway Earns Top Honors At 48th Annual SEMA Show

Bobby-Alloway-BuildBorla Performance, a leading manufacturer of stainless steel performance exhaust, is proud to announce one of its build partners and legendary automotive customizer, Bobby Alloway, was named the winner of the 2015 Battle of the Builders competition at the 2015 SEMA Show Nov. 6 in Las Vegas. The traditional all-black 1933 Ford Roadster with custom flames, owned by Larry Olson of Sioux Falls, North Dakota, defeated several other high-profile entries by other notable builders.

The Battle of the Builders award follows a string of four other awards and accolades received by Bobby this year alone, including:

• America’s Most Beautiful Roadster (AMBR) – Pomona
• Street Rod of the Year – Pomona
• Induction into the Hot Rod Hall of Fame – Pomona
• Goodguys Rod & Custom Association Street Rod of the Year- Columbus 2015

“We’re not at all surprised by Bobby’s amazing Battle of the Builders win at SEMA, but we sure are appreciative of what he’s accomplished. With the entry of so many high-profile builders, this year’s competition was especially tough, and Bobby’s ‘33 Roadster clearly had something special that resonated with the judges,” said David Borla, vice president of sales and marketing at Borla. “Bobby is a legend in the custom hot rod world and since developing a relationship with him in 2014, his overall influence and recognition in the sport continues to grow. We’re thrilled to have him as a part of the Borla family and are very excited to see what he has in store for 2016.”

Alloway also is sponsored by PPG, and is one of six of 10 finalists who used PPG products to finish their cars entered into the competition. The car was on display at PPG’s booth throughout SEMA.
