To reward the loyal automotive service centers that recommend and install Bendix by Honeywell products, the company is giving back with its Ultimate Rewards 2011 technician incentive program.

Launching on June 1, 2011 and running through Dec. 31, 2011, the promotion enables technicians to earn points for qualifying Bendix products. They can use their points anytime during the program period to receive a wide array of electronics, gift cards, household appliances, popular Bendix items, sporting equipment and more.

“Repair technicians and service centers recognize the quality of our products and recommend them to their customers, which has helped make Bendix an industry leader,” said Jim Kelley, director of sales, North America for Friction Materials. “The Ultimate Rewards program allows us to thank those technicians for their loyalty to the brand.”

In the past year, Bendix has invested heavily in making product enhancements and improvements, and has a team behind the scenes dedicated to finding ways to make a technician’s job easier and more profitable – with new product attributes, customer service, cataloging, promotions and training programs.

Bendix products that qualify for the program include Bendix CT3, Bendix CQ, Bendix TitaniuMetallic II, Bendix Fleet MetLok, Bendix IQ and Bendix SUV brake pads; Bendix premium new and relined brake shoes; Bendix  loaded and semi-loaded calipers; Bendix new master cylinders, wheel cylinders, drums and rotors, cable, and hardware; and Bendix Global products (friction, drums and rotors).

Technicians interested in participating in the Ultimate Rewards program can register online at  www.bendixrewards.com starting on June 1,  or visit the promotions page of www.bendixbrakes.com.

Long-Life Coolants Explained

Different types of coolants cover a range of applications from diesel to domestic, Asian and European vehicles. Each one is formulated to a specific manufacturer’s specifications to keep their engines at an optimal temperature. But, changes to the old one-size-fits-all formula has led to confusion for consumers and even some technicians.

Diagnosing Intelligent Cooling Systems

The majority of cooling systems on the roads react to what is happening inside the combustion chamber. After the engine is stressed, the heat causes the thermostat to open. Increases in temperatures will also cause the cooling fans to come on. The heat carried by the coolant is the trigger for operation of the fans and thermostat.

Modern Cooling System Design: It’s Not About Temperature; It’s About Powertrain

Given the advanced state of internal combustion engine technology, some recent cooling system innovations will actually increase engine torque and fuel economy while reducing exhaust emissions. Let me simplify that idea: new cooling system technology will make engines run better and cleaner. So, let’s get on the same page by reviewing some basics.
