Audi Tech Tip: Dynamic Steering Light On with DTCs/Needs ReFlash

Dynamic steering light is on and DTCs for overload, overuse or steering lock are stored in the Active Steering Control Module's memory.

MODELS: 2009-2011 A4, A5, Q5 and A8
 
CONDITION:  Dynamic steering light is on and DTCs for overload, overuse or steering lock are stored in the Active Steering Control Module’s memory.
CAUSE:  A DTCs C2538 (restricted function overuse) or C3221 (safety lock for active steering) is stored when the dynamic steering lock does not actuate within the specified time. It may take too long to engage or disengage.
REPAIR: Reprogram/Reflash the Active Steering Control’s Module for and optimized dynamic steering lock magnet.
