ASE Launches New Website and myASE Upgrade

The National Institute for Automotive Service Excellence (ASE) recently announced a redesigned website and the introduction of its enhanced myASE portal, which is accessible from ASE’s Homepage at www.ase.com. The redesigned ase.com website features improved navigation, less clutter, and freshened graphics. The site’s overarching goal is to help automotive service professionals, their employers, car owners, and the press get the information they need and get it quickly.

Among the new website features are a Students & Teachers tab; an ASE Community section with Facebook, Twitter and blog links, and a place to sign up for free E-newsletters. There’s also a homepage link to an enhanced myASE section that allows technicians and their employers to manage either a personal or business myASE account in a secure, online setting at their convenience.

Visitors to the ASE website will find content arranged by popular topics (About ASE, Tests, Test Prep & Training, News & Events, and more) for quick access and by audience (Technicians, Employers, Students & Teachers, and Car Owners) for those who intend to drill down to more detailed information. The homepage is rounded out by quick links to news items, the ASE store, customer service, Twitter and Facebook links, and the myASE portal.

The new myASE gives technicians a personal, direct connection to ASE and a one-stop place for managing their ASE account. Once logged on, ASE technicians can view their certification status, sign up for tests, find a test center, and more. A technician does not have to be ASE certified to open a myASE account, and those registering for the first time will be prompted to provide basic data such as address and contact information. Existing ASE-certified professionals who set up a myASE account will find their historical ASE data imported and waiting for them.

A new feature lets employers establish a company account, so service directors or a designated manager can to keep track of their technicians’ certification status, receive recertification reminders, manage payments, and more. The upgraded myASE gives service professionals and their employers the 24/7 convenience of web-based account management for today’s busy professionals.

The National Institute for Automotive Service Excellence was established in 1972 as a non-profit organization to help improve the quality of automotive service and repair through the voluntary testing and certification of automotive technicians and parts specialists. Today, there are more than 350,000 ASE-certified professionals at work in dealerships, independent shops, collision repair shops, auto parts stores, fleets, schools and colleges throughout the country.
