The ASE Industry Education Alliance, in collaboration with the Global Automotive Aftermarket Symposium (GAAS) Scholarship Fund, announced recently the recipients of three scholarships. The ASE 2013 scholarship recipient is Conner Kavanagh of Richwood, Ohio. The two $1,000 Michael Busch Memorial Fund scholarship winners are Brian Stevenson of Edmond, Okla., and Ryan Stenzel of New Richland, Minn.

“We are pleased to support the future of the automotive service industry through the generous scholarship program established to honor the memory of Michael,” said Trish Serratore, NATEF president. “We congratulate this year’s winners and wish them the best in their careers.”

“The partnership with the Michael Busch Memorial Fund has enabled the GAAS scholarships to help even more students pursue their dream of starting a successful career in the automotive aftermarket,” said Pete Kornafel, chairman of the GAAS Scholarship Selection Committee.

The Michael Busch Memorial Scholarship fund was created in memory of the son of former collision shop owner and ASE board member Jim Busch, who operated a business in Issaquah, Wash., until his retirement. Michael was an automotive technology student who tragically lost his battle with cancer. Each recipient of the Michael Busch scholarship receives $1,000 to be used toward their automotive education.
