Alert Stamping Celebrates Golden Anniversary

Alert Stamping is celebrating its 50-year anniversary this year. Based in Cleveland, OH, the original founding partners began the company to manufacture retractable cord reels for the OEM vacuum cleaner industry. From there, the company’s presses were put into action stamping housings to contain retractable extension cords. Alert’s progression continued by adding lights to the cord ends.

Today, the company manufactures lighting products to the specifications of is in-house design team under the guidance of the second-generation owners Paul Blanch and Jim Kovacik. Alert produces LED task lights powered by replaceable/rechargeable batteries or with 120V AC and 12V DC line cords. Additionally, they construct a full line of incandescent trouble lights and fluorescent work lights.

All these products are available with or without a variety of retractable reels. Extension cords in various lengths and gauges are available with single outlet or circuit breaker protected triple tap. However, the most popular cord sets are in retractable reels; the company also produces hand wind-up reels.

“The ability of Alert to advance our products with new materials and components as they evolve and utilize continuously improved manufacturing processes is what keeps us in the forefront of our industry,” says Ralph Technow, director, sales and marketing.
