ACDelco’s WISE Internet Parts System Expanded

In 2000 and 2001, ACDelco launched two e-business tools for shop owners and Independent Service Centers (ISC): Web Integrated Service Environment (WISE) and WISE Internet Parts (WIP). WIP is a web-based application that lets ACDelco customers check inventory and order parts online anytime from WISE-enabled ACDelco Warehouse Distributors (WDs).

ACDelco has added new features to its e-business tool offerings.

WIP provides a stand-alone service option dedicated to comprehensive cataloging, faster parts access and easier online ordering while simplifying administration for WDs.

New this year, WIP is available in both Spanish and French in addition to English. This offers greater efficiencies, saving Spanish- and French-speaking technicians and counterpersons time translating information and helping reduce potential errors due to language barriers.

"When searching for, or ordering parts, customers need a clear, easy-to-use, efficient program," said Steve Sigg, ACDelco e-business manager. "This tri-lingual option of WIP provides a comprehensive program and makes the catalog search and parts ordering process a better fit to the needs of our Hispanic and French Canadian customers."

In addition, WIP is now available to ISCs in the collision segment of the business. Collision WIP enables WDs to service the unique collision market segment by providing a parts list based on a specific vehicle’s damage. Collision WIP identifies/lists all possible parts that may need to be replaced. The user can select the parts needed and quickly and easily place the order via his WD’s WIP system.

In addition to WISE and WIP, ACDelco’s e-Business Landscape includes several other tools. The Electronic Parts Information System offers ACDelco WDs a complete visibility system detailing their order status, and the MechanicNet Customer Retention System (CRS) provides ISCs with everything they need to help remind, thank and communicate regularly with their customers.
