With its latest software release, Snap-on increased the vehicle coverage in Software Upgrade 16.2 for Auto-ID, One-Touch Full Vehicle Code Scan and One-Touch Clear All Codes to help technicians diagnose problems quickly and make repairs with confidence.

The Auto-ID feature includes coverage for 39 vehicle makes, One-Touch Full Vehicle Code Scan covers 38 vehicles makes, with Subaru recently added, and One-Touch Clear All Codes covers 36 vehicle makes, now with Subaru on the list.

“Software Upgrade 16.2 has been enhanced with productivity features to help technicians easily identify a vehicle, conduct a complete vehicle heath check and clear all codes with the touch of just one button at each step, allowing them to work on more cars during the course of a day,” said Christopher Hockett, product manager, Snap-on Diagnostics. “Keeping diagnostic software up-to-date not only maximizes the diagnostic tool investment, but also guarantees it’s always providing the same comprehensive performance as it did on day one.”

With Auto-ID, vehicles identify themselves to the scan tool automatically, saving time and entry errors. In about 10 seconds, One-Touch Full Vehicle Code Scan checks all applicable modules for trouble codes on the vehicle at once, so technicians don’t spend time checking each separately. When the job is completed, One-Touch Clear All Codes automatically clears all the codes with just one button, eliminating the need to clear codes in each module one at a time.

Software Upgrade 16.2 provides access to 105,440 additional codes, tests, tips and data for vehicles as far back as 1997, as well as new 2015 domestic and Asian coverage for Acura, Chrysler, Dodge, Ford, Honda, Hyundai, Jeep, Kia, Lincoln, Mitsubishi and Ram. The exclusive Fast-Track Troubleshooter coverage goes all the way back to 1980 with 17,490 new tips and timesavers. The upgrade also includes 27,650 new Guided Component Tests.
