Vacuum Testing is one of the
most reliable methods for testing valve-to-seat seal when building a cylinder
head. An electric version is already a part of the Goodson product line so when
asked why the company was adding another tester, Dave Monyhan, national sales
manager, said, “The automotive aftermarket lost a great vacuum tester when the
Sioux stopped making the 1630 vacuum tester. We’ve been working to add a unit
that could take its place.”
The Goodson DVC-2011 Vacuum
Tester pulls and holds up to 24 PSI of negative vacuum on 90 PSI of shop air
and features quick coupling Robinair fittings. The tester comes with a 4.75”
diameter plate and carrying case. Additional plates are available from a 2”
diameter to 6” and in two rectangular plates measuring 2”x3” and 3”x4”.

services manager, said he’s excited about the new Pistol Grip Vacuum Tester.
“It seems like just about everyone has been coming out with one of these over
the past couple of years, but we’ve built ours to be more versatile than most.
It works pretty much like the old Sioux 1630, but we’ve added an optional
flexible hose kit so that this one can be used to test smaller, harder to reach
areas. We also offer six different vacuum plates for various sized openings.”
