Ford No Crank/No Start, Multiple Warning Lights and/or DTCs

Customers may state they’ve experienced intermittent no crank/no start conditions in their vehicle.

Troubleshooting And Sorting Out Multiple DTCs At The Penny Arcade

It is late Thursday afternoon in mid-May and tourist season is just beginning in Colorado’s High Country. After finishing one mobile diagnosis, I was asked to look at another – a 2003 Honda Element with a no-cranking condition that had just been dropped off at my client shop’s busy parking lot by an owner who was now stranded 2,000 miles away from home.

Subaru Oil Temperature Lamp Flashing, Multiple DTCs

If you encounter a Subaru that has the oil temperature warning lamp flashing with a code stored in memory and possibly an intermittent stalling condition, it may be the result of contamination in the valve body.

Ignition System: MIL On, Ignition Coil DTCs Set

Some 2006 Zephyr; 2006-2008 Fusion and Milan; 2007-2008 MKZ, Edge and MKX; and 2008 Taurus, Taurus X and Sable vehicles built on or before March 1, 2008 and equipped with a 3.0L or 3.5L engine may exhibit a malfunction indicator lamp (MIL) on.

GM Tech Tip: Intermittent No Crank/No Start With MIL On And DTCs Set

This repair can be applied to any electrical connection including, but not limited to: lighting, body electrical, in-line connections, powertrain control sensors, etc. Do not over apply lubricant to the point where it prevents the full engagement of sealed connectors. A light coating on the terminal surfaces is sufficient to correct the condition.

Audi Tech Tip: MIL On With Multiple Low Fuel Pressure DTCs

Due to fuel intrusion into the low-pressure system fuel pressure sensor (G410), a false signal may be sent to the controller, resulting in a reading that is out of tolerance. Comparing Measure Value Block (MVB) 103 with 106 is not an accurate method to diagnose low-side fuel pressure sensor G410. In order to diagnose G410 accurately, use a mechanical gauge and compare results with the low-side fuel pressure Actual Value in MVB 103.

Tech Tip: Subaru’s A/T Temp Light Flashing, But No DTCs Stored, Erratic Shifting Complaint

If you encounter a late-model D4AT-equipped vehicle with an erratic shifting complaint, and possibly a DTC P0712 in memory, there may be a poor connection in the transmission wiring harness. There have been cases of open circuits or high resistance isolated to the white plastic pass-through section of the transmission harness or the harness itself. It’s important to note that the P0712 may not be set when the condition occurs.

Tech Tip: Porsche Check Engine Warning Light Activated With DTCs P2096/P2098 Set

Check Engine warning light may be activated by an error in the diagnostic software of the DME control module. The OBD II system registers a malfunction of the oxygen sensor and activates the Check Engine warning light, even though the oxygen sensor is fully operational.

Tech Tip: Subaru Impreza With DTCs P0705, P0851, P2746, P2750 And/Or No Crank, No Start

If you receive a customer concern of a Check Engine light, AT Temp light or a no engine crank condition, the wiring harnesses to the transmission range sensor (inhibitor switch) should be closely inspected for damage or a short circuit to the CVT transmission case.
